Vince Zampella, who helped create the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in Los Angeles, California he was 55 years old.
Zampella's death was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio that he helped create.
The celebrated industry figure passed away following his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a freeway in LA on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.
"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," an official with Electronic Arts said.
