Loyal supporters of the actress are urging that a person who leaped a fence and seized the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good premiere be arrested or expelled from Singapore.
A widely shared footage depicts the individual from Australia bypassing photographers and lunging at Grande while the actors proceeded down a yellow carpet flanked by onlookers.
Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the shocked performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the premiere by security officers.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being taken in", though official papers indicated that he was set to attend court on Friday morning. It is not clear if he was faced legal action.
This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a celebrity gathering. His Instagram account contains videos of him disrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney performance in recently and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last winter.
"There needs to be action applied against him as this is obviously a punishable act," wrote an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user remarked.
Numerous supporters criticized Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the conclusion of her spring 2017 concert in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming numerous individuals.
"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote another message on Instagram.
Several fans also faulted security officers at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while some requested social media platforms to block Mr Wen's videos.
In footage shared widely, Grande appeared shocked when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by security.
Grande has remained silent on the event, and the remaining proceedings proceeded as normal.
Many of attendees had gathered in a sea of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it started.
The film, to be premiered on November 21, is the follow-up of a two-part version of the well-known stage production Wicked, which centers on the unlikely friendship between two distinct witches.
The production itself is a spin-off of the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress decorated with roses.
They were alongside cast member Jeff Goldblum.
The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning film of last year in the UK, and scored 10 Academy Award nods, winning two for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
