US actor Pat Finn, who featured in popular television series including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA on Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.

"He saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a statement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".

A Notable Career on Screen

His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a party host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, like:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn guided, supported, and advised countless students over the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he posted publicly.

Finn is survived by his wife Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
