Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving

In a unexpected partnership that challenges traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Revealed

According to the formal release, "A strange confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where rumors of banned practices and fearsome transformations echo through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a hidden group.

The mission centers on "peculiar trials and a monstrous enemy" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Places and Transformations

The preview features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, likely the captive, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Bonus Features

Players who finish the mission will receive an exclusive katana in addition to multiple artifacts hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Unique weapons
• Survey Corps steed

Third Free Story Addition

This patch also adds the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery." This humorous adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive skills: Naoe reveals a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with famous anime series. The series formerly featured a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
