A ex-military leader of the the nation's space operations center will deliver recommendations next month on how the state-backed organization can optimally help the scale of government AI ambitions in defense, national security and intelligence.

Strategic Realignment

The center's head, a former Amazon UK boss, confirmed that nearly eighty separate studies at the organization with 440 employees have been terminated, spun out or finished because they aren't consistent with the fresh focus.

Internal Challenges

The institute has faced internal strife since last year as employees objected against restructuring, culminating in a group of employees filing a whistleblower complaint to the proper supervisory commission.

The center's administration stated that these staff complaints were externally examined by a neutral third party that found them to have no substance.
